This presentation focuses on the evaluation of a pre-clinical translational science experiment emphasizing interdisciplinary research. The objective of the study is to improve diagnosis and hasten treatment amongst American service-disabled Veterans who have been rated by the government’s Veterans Affairs branch with various afflictions from overseas deployments.
As an objective measure of impairment from any source, including Tetrahydrocannabinol, Druid® quantifies diminishing reaction time, hand-eye coordination, balance and the ability to perform divided attention tasks. Druid diagnostic developments are directly associated with the Endocannabinoid System, defining Cannabis effects on human physiology and the flower’s therapeutic potential. Areas of interest in which this novel impairment apparatus delivers unparalleled testing insight will be explored.
Tailoring the patterns of consumption to account for tolerance and balance of terpene profiles will also be assessed. The DRUID mobile application assists self medicating Veterans who have been diagnosed with one of several Neurophysiological conditions. Customization of an individual’s level of impairment is investigated to suit lifestyle and healthcare relief requirements.
Ultimately, this evaluation will demonstrate to what degrees, intersecting biological and psychological factors, that Cannabis has a positive or negative effect on Veterans with Tinnitus, PTSD, TBI and/or several other types of injuries.
Progressive experimentation is required in order to propel the advancement and availability of medical marijuana, in the federally regulated arena, for all demographics of disabled Veterans. The study aims to reveal effective methodologies to deliver precise relief to this protected population of honorable citizens through trailblazing technology.
